Dublin Airport: What are the latest Covid-19 safety measures for passengers?

Masks are mandatory throughout a passengers journey through Dublin Airport

With the suspected arrival of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Ireland, it's important for both those flying in and out of Dublin to be aware of the Covid-19 safety measures currently in place.

Whether it's for checking in or just making your way through security, there are a number of measures that will make the journey through Dublin Airport that little bit different.

As well as security gate procedures, there will also be new safety guidelines for retail, cafes and restaurants throughout the airport.

Here are the latest Covid-19 safety procedures for Dublin Airport.

Passengers Arriving

In line with EU regulations, access to the airport is limited to passengers, crew members and airport workers. There are exemptions for passengers who need special assistance.

Valid travel documents such as a boarding pass and/or passport need to be shown to a member of staff before going inside the terminal.

The meeting point for arrivals has also changed in Terminal 1 and 2. The new meeting point for Terminal 1 is outside the main arrivals doors, while the glass walkway acts as the meeting point for terminal 2.

Social Distancing

Social distancing measures have been introduced throughout Dublin Airport. Queue management systems are now operating in all areas of the airport.

New separate points of access have been introduced to reduce contact between passengers. Floor signage and regular announcements will remind passengers of social distancing rules.

Face Masks

Face masks are mandatory throughout the airport as well as on the flight. Vending machines that sell masks are placed can be found across the airport.

Exemptions apply to children under the age of 13 or those who can provide evidence of a valid medical reason.
